The size of third-generation, family-owned Shaker Recruitment Advertising & Communications of Oak Park has more than doubled through the recent merger with Chicago creative and design firm, Matte Black Studios, founded by a member of the Shaker family.
As a result of the merger, new leadership of the 65-year old company has been put in place.
Agency president Joe Shaker, Jr. becomes agency president as his father, Joseph G. Shaker, who ushered his company from newspaper classifieds to the digital age, moves to chairman of the board, while Derek Briggs was named chief operating officer.
Daniel Shaker is executive director of Shaker’s new creative division. Shaker had been a creative consultant for Shaker Recruitment for nine years, before starting his own company in 2010.
Shaker Recruitment is now positioned to offer consumer and HR/clients creative, consulting, video, photography web and all other areas design services.
