Daufenbach Camera captures NBA promo and CMT concert

Daufenbach Camera is having a busy month supplying gear for major events. Sunday’s “Country LakeShake” concert at Northerly Island, was shot for Country Music Television (CMT) with 13 Arri cameras — a mix of Arri Alexas, Alexa Minis and Amiras.

The concert starred Jason Aldean and a dozen country and western singers performing at the First Merit Bank Pavilion on Northerly Island.

Earlier, Lawrence Daufenbach was director of photography on a 30- and 60-second promo for the NBA finals, capturing the game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Oakland Golden State Warriors. It ran on ABC/ESPN for weeks leading up to and during last night’s NBA finals clinched by the winning Cavs team.

Daufenbach and his crew of four camera operators and six assistants shot with Arri Alexas and Alexa Minis over a long 16-hour evening and night on a Brooklyn, New York basketball court.

Daufenbach and his gear were hired by Victory Pictures of Avon, Conn., specialists in sports broadcast and film. Daufenbach has worked with Victory on NFL Draft shoots several times in the past.

“We were brought aboard 10 days before the game for preproduction,” Daufenbach says. “We mapped out all the plans for lighting and camera positions to deliver the style we were going for.”

The promo also features The Roots band that plays on ABC’s “Jimmy Fallon Show.”
