Draft puts producer Davis into
new emerging media position

Production expert Michael Davis joined Draft as VP/director of emerging media, a new position ? and one that portends the wave of the future.

“The object is to use every place possible as an electronic media opportunity and Michael is absolutely into that,” said creative chief Lor Gold. “He’s an excellent choice for this new position.”

Davis comes from Tvproduction.com, his own, on-going creative production company. Draft was one of his clients and Davis produced collateral and multimedia for Audi, Cadillac, Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s, Sprint and others.

His spec spots helped Draft win the Chicago Mercantile Exchange account in early 2003. “It was so well-received that we aired it without revisions,” said Gold.

“He’ll also work closely with our creative leaders to raise the caliber of the concepts we produce,” Gold added.

A 12-time Emmy winner (nine for his shows, three for personal achievements), Davis has more than 20 years experience in commercials, TV shows, short films and all forms of digital technology.

In 1984, Davis went to work for NBC News, moving later to PBS. He gained international attention in ’87 when he, with a Vietnam national, led the first American TV team into Vietnam since the fall of Saigon.

At present, Davis does not have a team and reports to EVP/ECD Kathy Bucaro-Zobens, to collaborate in new business development, emerging marketing channels and commercial production.

Said Gold, “We will eventually build a staff under him as we develop the concept and I want Chicago to be the center of it.”
