Mike Roe to Energy BBDO; writer Mike Roe to Mbira

Energy BBDO’s ECD Mike Roe

AFTER A SHORT STINT at McGarryBowen where he worked on the equally short-lived Bud Light account, executive creative director Mike Roe returned to Energy BBDO the start of the New Year.  Roe had been with Energy BBDO for eight years, departing in February, 2012 for a top position on the Bud Light creative team.  Then, last August, McGarryBowen lost the account to Translation Advertising without a review and Energy BBDO was delighted to welcome him back..

In case you missed it.  Over the holidays Energy BBDO moved from Wrigley Building tenancy of nearly 80 years to the glass and steel tower at 225 N. Michigan.

COINCIDENTALLY, there is another Chicago adman by the name of Mike Roe.  A versatile all-media copywriter, he joined Mbira Technologies the same time Mike Roe I returned to Energy BBDO. Roe II was formerly a writer with Notre Dame’s University Communications department and early spend nearly 15 years as CD/copy and marketing consultant with Hollywoodcopy.com.

Mbira works closely with internet retailers zZounds and SameDayMusic, specialists in audio and musical instruments. Maya Kuper, formerly with Studiomedia in Evanston, is copyeditor and merchandiser for those two companies.
