Estlin curates Annoyance Theatre’s Film Night series

Jennifer Estlin

After the enthusiastic response to an NBC comedy pilot that its executive producer, Mick Napier, screened for friends last summer, the Annoyance Theatre founder/artistic director and executive producer Jennifer Estlin decided to make screenings of local shorts a monthly event.

“Film Night” will screen the first Sunday of every month, starting Monday, March 1 at the Annoyance Theatre & Bar. Tickets are going fast at a scant $2, “priced just enough to cover turning on the lights,” says Estlin, who is curating the program.

The opening 90-minute program will feature:

Two films by director Gerard Jamroz: his award-winning experimental short, “We are the Binary,” and his video, “Superstars,” from the soundtrack to “The Cockups” film;

Three webisodes from Harry Bauer’s series, “Video Transmission from the Frequently Captured Buck Private” and an episode from Robert Carnilius’ “Kentucky Fried High” webisode;

Kevin Hanna’s TV pilot, “Public Access” and Clifton Stommel’s short, “Apple.”

After last summer’s screening of the NBC pilot (not picked up) was so enjoyable, says Estlin, “We had requests from people working on pilots and videos asking us to screen their work and we felt it would be a nice opportunity all around.”

At the Annoyance Theatre & Bar (with a fully stocked bar), 851 W. Belmont, second floor.  Film Night $2 tickets may be purchased here.
