Urban Grind TV goes national with FUBU TV

Wally Lockard, founder and Executive Producer of the award-winning Urban Grind TV, is probably feeling very thankful after the five-day weekend. His weekly music video show now in its eighth year on Chicago’s Comcast Cable Channel 25, is launching nationally on FUBU TV.

The show travels the country producing exclusive interviews, event coverage, music videos and more!

UGTV has been broadcast on Comcast RCN Wow Cable 25 Chicago for 17 seasons over 9 years of producing a weekly television show while becoming a staple in hip-hop media throughout the Midwest and now they are expanding on a national basis through FUBU TV. FUBU TV reaches close to 250 million households.

“This is really big for the Midwest, for the city, most importantly for the arts and culture,” Lockard said. “Our events, our talent, our videos, our artists have one more platform at home for the world to see them, and for that we are thankful.”

FUBU, of course, started as the urban hip-hop fashion brand by Shark Tank shark, Daymond John in 1992.

Apple’s irresistible new holiday ad

Our publisher, Barbara Roche, emailed me this weekend saying she could not stop watching Apple’ new holiday ad, titled Sway.

After watching it, I understand her obsession.

The mesmerizing piece follows a woman walking down the most perfect of snow-covered streets. After she stops briefly to turn on her iPhone X and listen to Sam Smith croon his song Palace through her wireless AirPods, she begins to twirl and dance, converting that street into her private stage. All stops, when she bumps into a handsome stranger. After she shares her AirPod with him, the two are off and dancing in a whimsical and dreamy sequence.

The spot ends with “Move someone this holiday.” Our publisher certainly was.
