LA-based Deluxe Entertainment’s Chicago Studio of Beast editorial, Company 3 color grading and Method Studios visual effects group located in the Tribune Tower, added four to bring the total staff number to 28.
The new additions are VFX producer Matthew Engel joining from Method Studios in New York, designers Matt Fultz, who’d been freelancing at local post houses, Tobias Mattner, from Leviathan, and Company 3 color assistant Zachary Korpi, from color intern at The Mill.
At the same time, Lauren Roth was promoted to head of production for all three companies, from senior producer. Roth has been with the companies since 2008.
Peter Hullinger, general manager of all the three companies, calls Roth “the backbone of our facility, and a wonderful client resource,” and says, “bringing in Matt, Tobias and Matthew elevates what we’re able to deliver creatively on the visual effects front.”
Chicago promotions were Joel Signer to producer at Beast, from Method assistant producer; Tara Reeves and Claire Smalley to production coordinators from client service and office manager, respectively.
