GERTRUDE-ADC night of advertising innovation Oct. 16

GERTRUDE INC.’S Otis Gibson last year partnered with the New York Art Directors Club to revive Chicago’s decades-old Art Directors Club with two successful events a few days apart.
This year’s single evening event, Thursday, Oct. 16 is “Magik Macaroni  conceived by GERTRUDE in partnership with the ADC Global Awards & Club, of which Gibson is a board member.
“The evening is focused on innovation in advertising and design meant to inspire and united guests around a celebration of the very best in creativity around the globe,” he says.
It will take place fittingly at Lacuna, the Artistic Lofts Center and Entertainment venue in the growing Pilsen Art District, from 4 to 10 p.m.
Two hundred guests from advertising, design and production are expected.
The event’s “Magic Macaroni’s” title is a combinaton of the iconic Magikist rug cleaning sign and the former Viviano Macaroni Co., once the world’s biggest macaroni factory that operated for years in the building that became Lacuna.

One of the evening highlights will be the traveling exhibition of the Global ADC Awards, the “ADC InsirADCionFilm Series,” presented by distinguished Chicago adman, Rick Boyko, former O&M co-president and CCO and director of the acclaimed Brandcenter school.
The Global ADC Awards Traveling Exhibition and an exclusive screening of the ADC 2014 Tomorrow Awards of the most innovative awards around the world, preceded by a cocktail reception will take place in the Lacuna Reverie Gallery.
All this for just $20.
Leo Burnett is the evening’s title sponsor. Supporting sponsors are Sid Lee, Shutterstock, Resolution Group, Optimus Design, Luerzer’s Archive, O’Keefe Reinhard & Paul, Berlin School of Creative Leadership, and Creative Niche.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.
