HY Connect sold to healthcare agency network

HY Connect Chicago’s office, mainly a healthcare agency since 2002, has gone the way of many other independent, medium-sized agencies with its recent sale to Boston-based Myelin Communications of Boston.

The full-service, integrated agency, with 100 staffers, is now part of Myelin’s network of five agencies specializing in healthcare and financial services, in Boston, Columbus, Atlanta and now Chicago.

Myelin Communications is owned by Chicago-based Baird, a venture capital firm.

Dave Sheehan, Myelin president

HY Connect’s accounts include Indiana University Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Integrated Therapeutics, Advocate Healthcare and Roche Diagnostics, as well as Peapod, The Museum of Science & Industry, Wahl’s men’s hair grooming and Chicago’s First Lady Cruises.

Dave Sheehan continues as president and Myelin’s CEO, Rich Levy, was named the agency’s CEO. He also serves as president and CEO of Partners+Simons, which was Baird’s first stake in 2012.

The acquisition doesn’t include HY Connect’s Milwaukee office, where the agency started as Hoffman York.  Milwaukee will remain an independent office and revert to its original Hoffman York identity.
