The Onion touts “Lawnbnb” in a pair of Scotts spots

Spring has arrived along with a pair of refreshing 50-second native content videos for Scotts Lawn and Care  created by The Onion Labs.

Produced and created for Boston-based MullenLowe agency, their mission is to shake millennials out of their collective apathy over lawn care. “Annie” and “Privacy” tout the advantages of overnight rentals of lawns that are cared for and nutured by Scotts.

Renting a Lawnbnb “is much cooler than staying on a lawn in front of an expensive hotels,” and “it’s much more comfy to lay down on a lawn cared for with Scotts after a long day of exploring,” say the on-camera talent.

The satirical spots were directed by George Zwierzynski, Jr. The Onion’s VP/head of production, produced by Mary Beth Searls, shot by DP Daniel Izui and edited by Nick Moore. HAVAS WORLDWIDE EXECUTIVE Fredda Hurwitz, the agency’s London-based Global Chief Strategy Officer, Havas Sports & Entertainment, has joined Music Dealers’ board of director as global Strategic advisor. London-based, she is considered a leading innovator in brand strategy.

ON THE SCENE,” a new webseries from director Rocco Cataldo and DP Michael Kwielford’s Potenza Productions, showcases at CIMMfest April 14 at the 1st Ward. Director Mary Ann Cook describes the series as “a no-holds barred, ultimate sneak peek into VIP access backstage. Either you’re part of the scene or you’re not.”

 

FCB’S IN-HOUSE STUDIO, Lord + Thomas produced a spot celebrating the first-ever National Little Red Wagon Day in celebration of Radio Flyer’s 100th Anniversary that promotes the childhood ironic wagon as “Imagination on Wheels.”

THE HISTORYMAKERS, the video archives of African Americans who have influenced history founded by Julieanna Richardson, will tape an upcoming national PBS special April 9 at the Art Institute.

“An Evening with Valerie Jarrett” will be interviewed by Michele Norris, producer of “NPR’s All Things Considered” show. Taping under the direction of WGN/9’s Steve Novak, who was recently voted president of the local National Academy of TV Arts & Sciences, aka TV Academy.
