Scandinavian agency acquires local Nansen

THE NORTH ALLIANCE, the first ever collective of Scandinavian creative agencies, has expanded into the U.S. market with the acquisition of the Chicago-based digital agency, Nansen, at 401 N. Morgan. 

The agency, founded by six Swedes, is considered to be one of the fastest growing digital agencies in the US, with offices in Stockholm, Chicago, New York and London and a staff of more than 100.  Clients include Thomas Cook, Electrolux and The International Baccalaureate organization.

Jonathan Pettersson will stay on as president of Nansen’s Chicago office, with Henrik Kraft as SVP Global Marketing. Michael Jäderlind continues as Nansen CEO and will be based in Sweden.

Commented Pettersson, “By becoming part of the collective we are helping to bring the Scandinavian collaborative approach into the world’s biggest market, where it is bound to succeed.”

WOMEN IN FILM CHICAGO warms up to the holidays with a party at Optimus, Wednesday, Dec. 9, by asking guests to wear their ugliest sweater and bring a scarf, hat or pair of mittens donation to the women’s and children’s shelter at St. Martin de Porres House of Hope. 

At 161 E. Grand, 6 p.m.  Tickets are $20 and includes appetizers and drinks.

ON THE SPOT. Bicoastal MJZ is back in Chicago and on Essanay’s big stage for three days, shooting for Payless Shoes.  The client’s VP/global creative marketing director is Dan Ziglich, former DraftFCB EVP/director creative production services and earlier the owner/chief EP of his own Z Group Films … Radical Media shoots a Hallmark holiday spot for three days on location.

MOVING UP. Whitehouse Post promoted Dan Zabinski to editor, from assistant editor.  The Columbia College grad started his career in 2008 as an intern at Whitehouse Post. 

Zabinski’s reel includes Allstate, Miller Beer, Kleenex, Meijer and the Chicago Bulls. He’s also worked with directors Phil Morrison, Joaquin Baca-Asay, Guy Shelmerdine and Mark Romanek.

PROPOSALS ARE SOUGHT by Dcase (Dept. of Cultural Affairs & Special Events) for exhibitors for the 2016 Lake FX Summit + Expo, May 13-15, 2016, the region’s biggest free conference for artists and creative entrepreneurs.

Deadline has been extended until Dec. 14 for established producers working in film, music, dance, theatre, fashion, culinary and art fields to be part of the Summit.

The 2016 theme, “I’m In!” invites and challenges all participants to engage their careers and their creative communities. Presenters and exhibitors will be notified in January.
