Vince Vaughn finally sells his Mag Mile penthouse

Vince Vaughn

VINCE VAUGHN IS GONE from Chicago, that is, he finally sold the three-story penthouse atop the Palmolive Building at 919 N. Michigan for a total $12.1 million, a little more than he originally paid for it and after splitting it into three different units.

Lake Forest native Vaughn bought the penthouse in 2006 for $12 million while he and Jennifer Aniston were in Chicago filming (and also dating) the rom-com feature “The Break Up.”

Vaughn sold the top two floors for $8 million September and a three-bedroom condo for $4.1 million, according to DNA. The actor had reduced his asking price from $24.7 million to $13.9 million after many years of sales effort. Katherine Malkin of Baird & Warner was the real estate agent.

In 2010, Vaughn married Kyla Webber and he and their two children live in Los Angeles. He hasn’t filmed in Chicago for a decade.

TWO UNITS FROM SHOWTIME’SSHAMELESS” arrive in Chicago next week for a full week of exterior shooting for the show. All the directors will be here to film all exteriors they’ll need for future episodes. Essanay is supplying all the lighting gear for the filming.

The LA “Shameless” crew usually film in Chicago twice a year. They were here most recently in August.

JOE SWANBERG, who took time out producing his own projects to be executive producer of Zack Clark’s comedy drama “Little Sister,” and whose company, Forager Films, is distributing, will appear for Q&A after Friday, Oct. 28’s screenings at the Music Box Theatre.

New York-based Clark wrote, directed and co-produced “Little Sister” about a young name who returns to her childhood home in Asheville, N.C. avoiding all contact with her family. It stars Addison Timlin, Ally Sheedy and Keith Poulson in a cast of 86 listed on IMDB.

Susie Linker’s Elevated Films, IFP/Chicago and the Chicago Underground Film Festival are hosting Friday’s screenings at 7 and 9:30 p.m.
