QuikTrip is shifting the conversation away from transactions and toward emotion in a new summer campaign developed with Laughlin Constable, its creative and media AOR.
Called “Savor Summerhood,” the campaign positions the convenience store chain not as a quick stop, but as a companion to the everyday moments that make summer memorable.
The platform is built on a simple insight: people spend all year looking forward to summer, yet the season often slips by in a blur of work schedules, errands and obligations. Rather than focusing on promotions or value messaging, the campaign highlights small moments of joy that help people slow down and appreciate the season.
Four 30-second spots, Lunch Break, Sandwich Break, Hose and Skaters, capture relatable slices of summer life, from grabbing lunch in the sunshine to spending time with friends outdoors. A companion 10-second social spot, Skater, expands on the theme with nostalgic imagery of two friends skateboarding through a summer day. Watch below:
“Summer is made up of small moments that people genuinely look forward to all year long,” said Dawn Deal, Director of Marketing for QuikTrip. “We wanted this campaign to celebrate those moments authentically and show how QuikTrip can help make them just a little easier, better, and more memorable. Laughlin Constable understood from the beginning that this wasn’t just about convenience, it was about capturing the feeling of summer and the role QuikTrip can play in helping people savor it.”
“The best summer memories are rarely grand or polished,” said Jon Laughlin, Chief Creative Officer of Laughlin Constable. “They’re usually simple moments with friends, family, food, music, sunshine, and spontaneity. We wanted QuikTrip to feel naturally woven into that experience. Shooting the spots on film was the extra touch needed to capture the warmth, texture, and nostalgia of summer in a way that felt honest and emotionally lived-in.”
The creative intentionally avoids aspirational lifestyles in favor of authentic experiences. Backyard hangouts, quick breaks from work, and spontaneous adventures take center stage, with QuikTrip serving as the facilitator rather than the centerpiece.
To enhance the campaign’s nostalgic tone, the work was shot entirely on film, giving the spots a textured, sun-drenched look that evokes the imperfect quality of summer memories. Supporting visuals feature scenes such as friends sharing frozen drinks on a hot day, skateboarding through neighborhoods, and escaping the pressures of summer jobs.
The campaign marks the first major brand platform developed since Laughlin Constable, was named QuikTrip’s agency of record in 2025.
At a time when many quick-service restaurants and convenience brands continue to emphasize speed, price and promotions, Savor Summerhood takes a different approach, focusing on the emotional role convenience brands can play in consumers’ lives.
The national campaign is running across programmatic connected TV, live sports broadcasts, social media, influencer partnerships, and out-of-home placements throughout QuikTrip’s footprint, including growth markets such as Chicago, Houston, and Denver.
For Laughlin Constable, the campaign represents an opportunity to help evolve the QuikTrip brand beyond functional benefits and establish a longer-term storytelling platform as the retailer continues its expansion.
