Everyone in the advertising and film community knows that VER has a ton of high-end equipment for rent in their facility on the West Side of Chicago — I mean, come on, the place supplies Dick Wolf’s shows at Cinespace. But the question remains, do they also know how to use it?
The answer is a resounding yes, and Reel Chicago was fortunate enough to find out first hand.
A few weeks ago, VER graciously agreed to appear in the inaugural episode of Reel Chicago’s Reel Insider, an in-depth review of the people and places who help put Chicago’s film and TV industry on the map.
Publisher Barbara Roche, Staff Writer Joey Filer, and I visited the location for what was supposed to be a quick interview. But the courtesy, knowledge and stories shared by VER’s crew and executives compelled us, happily, to remain for the whole day.
By the time we arrived, they had constructed a set with perfect lighting and compiled talking points that were beyond relevant. Besides supplying the audio and video equipment, VER also assembled an excellent crew from the ranks of people who work there every day.
The efforts were spearheaded by Chicago Sales Support Executive Kamelya Alexan, who is living proof that the people at VER not only know about equipment, but they’re also fun to hang with.
