Nine Cutters’ finalists competing for AICE Awards

Cutters Studios’ editors and designers in four of its offices made a big splash as finalists for the 2015 AICE Awards, ranking second only to Rock Paper Scissors in the number of nominations it received.

Editors in Cutters’ Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and New York offices were named in nine finalist categories, following New York-based Rock Paper Scissors’ 12 nominations out of the 112 editorial, design and finishing categories.

“AICE is the only awards show that recognizes the craft of postproduction and those who work in post,” notes says Cutters EP Craig Duncan, “so we are very proud to be among the great talent being honored.”

Work is judged by directors editors, colorists, designers, special effects, audio and musicians, and agency creatives and producers from the US and Canada.

Cutters, Optimus and Earhole Studios talent were the three Chicago candidates among the post production stars in the US and Canada.

Cutters’ Best of Chicago finalists are Chicago-based Kathryn Hempel for her “#Like a Girl”/Leo Burnett campaign and Grant Gustafson for Esurance.

Louis Lyne of Cutters Detroit is competing with himself in the Best of Detroit category, with two spots for Ford.

A dual nomination went to Nadav Kurtz and Cameron Yergler in New York for a CVS campaign and Kurtz also got the nod for a Wingmate spot.  Barnett Kiel of Cutters LA also was cited.

Optimus’ Randy Palmer was nominated for his “Chicago Blackhawks One Goal” work as a Best of Chicago competitor.

Earhole Studios is a finalist in the Original Music category for its Dodge work.
