Several notable local industry people are collaborating with Vince Lawrence of Slang Musicgroup to help launch the career of new singer-songwriter Jana G.
“We’re all working together but independently to help this local artist realize her potential,” says Lawrence, who has now produced seven tracks for what he expects to be a full Jana G. album.
Jana G. is Jana Gadarowski, an accounting clerk for Big Shoulders Digital Video Productions. She started writing songs as a teen, and says she “found her voice” playing double bass in the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra.
“It had a profound effect, this writing and singing at the same time,” she says.
“We’re making progress to the point the major labels are inquiring about her,” Lawrence says. “R. Kelly said her songs are great, and he’s written more top 10 R&B songs than anyone else in history, so I respect his opinion.” Lawrence is also talking to local companies about potential branding relationships with Jana G.
